What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concessions Manager position at NOVA Parks?
Concessions Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all food and beverage outlets including Surf Side Pizza, Riptide Cafe, Dippin' Dots, and Sunny's Sweets. Work assignments and supervision are provided by the Food, Beverage, and Retail Manager and Waterpark Manager.
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Major Duties/Specific Tasks
- Assists with hiring of concessions staff.
- Supervises cooks, concessions supervisors, and attendants to include training, scheduling, motivation, and discipline.
- Performs duties of cooks and attendants as needed; to include cooking, cleaning, operating point-of-sale system, etc.
- Conducts staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Enforces safety and professionalism standards.
- Accounts for revenue and expenses.
- Controls and maintain inventories of resale and other supplies.
- Assists in completing orders from venders based on a weekly ordering schedule.
- Ensures accurate handling of cash and complete daily deposits according to established procedures.
- Assists with routine maintenance/repair of equipment.
- Assures clean working environment in both front and back of house to City of Alexandria Health Code and NOVA Parks standards.
- Informs the public of NOVA Parks rules and regulations and provide interpretation.
- Assists with public relations by handling visitor inquiries and providing information and assistance.
- Maintains record logs on waste.
- Assists with receiving and storing deliveries, rotating products.
- Reports unsafe conditions to the Waterpark Manager or Supervisor on Duty.
- Carries out additional duties as assigned by Waterpark Manager, Food, Beverage, and Retail Manager, or Aquatics Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Graduation from high school with a minimum of two years supervisory experience in Food & Beverage or related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Possession of or ability to obtain valid driver's license, must maintain safe driving record.
- Availability to work additional hours during peak operating season including shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (>8 hours).
- Ability to lift/carry at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
- Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash accurately.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Ability to learn the operation of the facility and to obtain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks.
- Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks.
- Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays.
- Required to wear standard uniform.
- Specialized duties and assignments related to a facility may require special training and/or certifications.
- Ability to obtain Certified Food Manager license and ServSafe certification.
