What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Supervisor position at NOVA Parks?
The Site Supervisor at Bull Run Regional Park will assist in all park operations including the park, waterpark, and seasonal light show. This position will supervise seasonal staff, and provide a high level of customer service both in person, and on the phone.
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Major Duties/Specific Tasks
- Assist in supervising park operations which may include opening and closing of facility, ordering and maintaining supplies, care and use of park resources.
- Implementation of NOVA Parks business practices and money handling procedures.
- Complete cash handling reports and deliver deposits to the bank.
- Work with staff and bank personnel to reconcile errors.
- Monitor park operations, retail sales, and events throughout the year.
- Assist with RV and boat storage coordination.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Assist in the supervision of part time/seasonal attendants and rangers, which may include scheduling, training, motivation, and control.
- Assist with ordering of resale merchandise and supplies, verifying deliveries, and maintaining proper records.
- Perform manual labor and routine maintenance as needed on buildings and grounds.
- Equipment use to include hand tools.
- Ensure NOVA Parks safety, business standards, and other standards inherent to all operations are being followed.
- Assist with public relations by greeting park visitors, handling inquiries, and providing information, assistance, and informing patrons of park rules and regulations.
- Interpret NOVA Parks rules and regulations.
- Attend staff meetings; conduct regular in-service training on cash handling and customer service.
- Report unsafe conditions, theft, or illegal actions to the Manager on Duty.
- Serve as Manager on duty in the absence of park management.
- Correct and report unsafe conditions to proper personnel.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by park management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school with one year of experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, and other basic computer applications.
- Strong phone, email, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with staff and customers.
- Ability to complete daily reports and maintain records.
- Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks.
- Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays.
- Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
