- Learn clinic computer hardware and software and use them according to company policies
- Comply with patient needs at all times and ensure all questions are answered
- Organize medical records, laboratory results, and progress notes to ensure that the healthcare provider has all of the available and necessary information during patient encounters
- Assist with the Front Desk as necessary
- Help healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, positioning the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed
- Make sure examination rooms are ready for patients by ensuring they’re well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and that all equipment is sterilized
- Take the patient’s vital signs including their pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure and record it in their chart
- Obtain blood samples from patients and sent them to the laboratory for testing
- Welcome patients to the office, take telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer questions about treatment or prescription refills to ensure an excellent patient experience
- Previous experience in a medical or primary care group practice or similar situations is preferred
- Customer service-oriented and passionate about helping patients
- Possesses clinical skills
- Electronic Medical Records and/or Electronic Health Records experience preferred (eClinical)
- Proficient in medical terminology preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Graduated from high school or received GED
- Must have completed an accredited medical assisting program and a supervised externship in a healthcare setting
- Passed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam to obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency
- Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks
- Great communication and customer service skills
