Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a temporary certification (ADC-T) to join our team. The ADC-T will work with clients to assess, create, and implement individualized treatment plans, providing counseling and support throughout the recovery process. This position plays a key role in delivering direct services to clients in a professional and empathetic manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine the level of care and develop personalized treatment plans
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for clients in an outpatient setting
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support clients' recovery goals
- Document client progress and maintain accurate treatment records in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Provide education and resources to clients on recovery strategies and coping mechanisms
- Support clients in crisis intervention and provide aftercare planning
- Stay current on best practices and advancements in the field of substance abuse treatment
Qualifications:
- ADC-T certification (Alcohol and Drug Counselor - Temporary) required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- Experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting (outpatient experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of addiction recovery and counseling techniques
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
