JOB DESCRIPTION
This position leads the roll mill team as part of the overall department teamwork initiative. This position will report to the Production Supervisor (or designate).
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude, ideally with exposure to steel processing equipment.
- Leads the roll mill team to achieve the goals and objectives for quality, productivity while providing ideas for continuous improvement and resolving problems.
- Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
- Works with Maintenance Manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
- Assesses roll mill systems to plan work assignments.
- Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
- Execute roll mill training and standardize processes.
- Attending meetings to understand the operational needs of the plant.
- Performs administrative responsibilities for the roll mill team members such as time and attendance system, performance reviews, etc.
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
- Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
- Inspects work performed by team members.
- Tracks and logs work time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
- Works with Supervisors and Logistics to coordinate machine repair needs.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- This role requires hands-on experience with mechanical systems.
- Roll Mill or high-volume manufacturing experience.
- Extensive knowledge of tool and die and weld processes.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
- Ability to operate overhead crane.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team orientated environment.
- Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
