Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Operations to oversee and optimize our projects and teams across the Southern and Midwest regions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of underground utility construction, aerial infrastructure, fiber splicing, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage operations across multiple projects in the Southern and Midwest markets, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Lead and mentor project managers, supervisors, and field teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors across diverse regional markets.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation, proactively addressing challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards.
- Work closely with senior leadership on business growth strategies, operational expansion, and market development.
- Analyze operational performance data and provide regular updates on key metrics and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 10 years of experience in underground utility construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Extensive knowledge of trenching, boring, coax splicing, aerial infrastructure, fiber splicing, and telecommunication infrastructure processes.
- Proven ability to manage operations across multiple regions, including familiarity with Southern and Midwest markets.
- Strong skills in project management, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in construction management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, Procore, Asana).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to oversee regional projects and teams.
