The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (FP&A Mgr) role is responsible for managing and optimizing financial performance of Novacel Americas. The role oversees the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis activities to drive insights and support strategic decision making. Additionally, the FP&A Manager will oversee and manage all cost accounting and inventory accounting, including variance reporting, i.e. actual versus standard, actual versus budget and actual versus prior year. The FP& Manager will develop dashboards with key performance indicators (KPI’s) analyzing trends, especially metrics such as sales, expenses and profit margins. A successful FP&A Manager combines strong analytical skills, understanding cost accounting principles and the ability to collaborate across functional areas. This role reports to the Novacel Americas CFO.

- Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the financial planning processes and procedures including monthly business reviews, forecasts, annual budgets, long-term strategic plans. Prepare monthly financial statements (using Onestream) for management review(s). Provide accurate standard costing, including raw materials, labor and overhead. Monitoring KPI’s and identifying causes of variances.
- Cost Management: Provide operational performance reporting insights to material, labor and overhead variances driving optimization within production. Present and provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports to various units and departments. Support the leadership team and department leaders with data driven analysis.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with Novacel’s accounting policies, statutory accounting standards as well as regulatory accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP). Establish and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure policy adherence.
- Audit: Assist the Accounting Manager with coordinating the semester and annual external audit process, especially with regards to inventory valuation and product costing topics. Collaborate with internal audit on an as needed basis.
- Leadership & Team Development: Foster a culture of excellence and accountability. Partner with cross functional teams to address financial challenges and support strategic projects. Manage operational accounting, including a cost accountant and an ERP Analyst.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Certification (CMA or advanced degree are a plus but not required).
- Knowledge: A minimum of (10) years of experience in cost accounting, business controlling and financial planning & analysis. A strong understanding of cost accounting principles, particularly standard costs and variances to standard. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as regulatory standards (i.e. IFRS, US GAAP).
- Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (i.e. Siteline, Epicore, QuickBooks, Odoo) and Microsoft Excel. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Strong ethics and integrity in handling financial matters. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, with a willingness to embrace change. Excellent communication, oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
