Role & Responsibilities
- Formulation Development: Design and develop new adhesive and coating formulations based on market needs, customer requirements, and technical feasibility. This includes experimenting with different raw materials, solvents, and additives.
- Process Optimization: Optimize existing formulations and processes to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability. Implement changes and monitor the impact on product quality and production efficiency.
- Testing & Analysis: Conduct rigorous testing and analysis of formulations to ensure they meet performance, durability, and regulatory standards. Utilize various analytical techniques such as spectroscopy and rheology.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, formulations, and test results. Prepare and present comprehensive reports on research findings, development progress, and technical data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality control, and marketing to ensure successful product development and commercialization. Provide technical support and training as needed.
- Innovation &Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products. Propose innovative solutions and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies in adhesives and coatings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all formulations and processes comply with relevant regulatory standards and environmental regulations. Prepare necessary documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, Chemistry or related discipline preferred
- Knowledge: A minimum of (3) years experience with adhesives, polymers, and / or coatings
- Skills & Competencies: Ability to analyze data for trends, cause and effect, and statistically meaningful results. Understanding chemical hazards and good lab safety practices. Strong attention to detail. Ability to write reports and create graphs, using Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.
- Team Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying results and expectations to team members, management, and external stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members, suppliers, and customers.
- This role involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional physical exertion such as lifting or bending.
- Regular integration with production, including monitoring trials, investigating problems, and testing results.
- Some travel may be required to visit customers, suppliers, and other production sites, as well as attending conferences and trade shows.
