What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Manager position at Novaline Industrial Solutions?
The ideal candidate for this position will provide project management for planning, and organizing all aspects of the task related to the relevant projects. As part of this role, the manager will have to oversee the works of his peers acting as the point of contact to handle any issues regarding the project.
Responsibilities
1. Construction Oversight
- Assess overall safety and quality of work while monitoring the budget/schedule through duration of project.
- Routinely inspect and perform quality checks on installed or constructed items to meet the required standards.
- Review work schedules and participate in daily construction briefings.
- Ensure P&C contract compliance and effective oversight of subcontractors.
2. Engineering-to-Construction Handoff
- Ensure construction activities reflect final engineering & design documents.
- Validate that dependencies are known and sequenced efficiently.
- Partner with Engineering & P&C firms to resolve issues or problems.
3. Cost & Schedule Control
- Validate actual construction progress versus firms’ reported progress, ensuring milestones are met.
- Monitor construction spend, review/approve invoices, and identify opportunities to reduce expenses.
- Monitor the project schedule while monitoring critical path items, overcoming delays and identifying opportunities to reduce duration.
4. Change and Risk Management
- Lead change management process and maintain change log of changes to the project scope, budget and schedule.
- Maintain construction risk register and mitigate risks as they arise.
5. Effective and Timely Communication and Documentation
- Escalate material safety, quality, cost, or schedule concerns to the Owner promptly.
- Resolve conflicts and potential project derailers quickly.
- Participate in weekly engineering and construction project meetings.
- Keep track of permits, change orders, and other project documents.
