Phlebotomy Tech II
- Works under the supervision of the Manager.
- Responsible for invasive procedures and techniques involved in the collection of blood specimens from patients for laboratory use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Serves as a primary link for the laboratory and interacts with physicians, guests, patients, family members, and other Medical Center staff to obtain or clarify information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears and elicit cooperation and collect specimens.
- Must have excellent customer service skills, prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must have skills related to teaching, assessing and training of staff and students.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year of relevant phlebotomy experience, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA (New hire and/or new phlebotomist must obtain certification within 6 months of hire), required.
- Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
