Summary
In this role you will be responsible for managing and supporting our team of Buyers, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring cost-effective and efficient sourcing activities. This role requires strong leadership, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Primary Responsibilities
Directly manage and support a team of Buyers, ensuring they have the guidance and resources needed to perform their roles effectively.
Perform approvals for Purchase Orders (POs) exceeding $5,000, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget constraints.
Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of invoices to ensure accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
Oversee and release 90-day holds on procurement activities, ensuring timely processing and resolution.
Assist in the development and implementation of Buyer Standard Work Processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Increase negotiated cost savings opportunities by leveraging strategic sourcing and negotiation skills.
Participate in and support various sourcing activities and projects to meet organizational goals.
Address and resolve vendor escalations promptly to maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure continuity of supply.
Oversee procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conduct Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA's) to drive continuous improvement.
Regularly update Supplier Risk Assessments and ensure completion of Annual Supplier Certifications to mitigate risks.
Engage in other procurement-related activities as needed to support the department and organization
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 7 years' experience in purchasing and 3-5 years' experience managing people.
Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Demonstrated strong people leadership skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, actively listening, facilitating, challenging, communicating, and motivating multifunctional teams and employees at all levels of the organization.
Strong drive for operational excellence and business results, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
