As an Onsite Project Engineer, you will deliver technical expertise and play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA/Automation systems directly with our customer. You will collaborate with our client to create efficient, secure, and intuitive solutions for monitoring and controlling their operations.
- Design, configure, and maintain SCADA systems to monitor and control customer processes.
- Develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications for effective system visualization.
- Integrate SCADA systems with field devices like PLCs, RTUs, sensors, and actuators.
- Configure and manage communication protocols, including Modbus, DNP3, and OPC.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Implement cybersecurity measures to safeguard SCADA systems.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations and manuals.
- Provide training and technical support to end-users and maintenance teams.
- Participate in system upgrades, expansions, and modernization projects.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in SCADA system design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFIX, etc.).
- Familiarity with networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, and wireless protocols).
- Experience with substation RTUs, IO devices, and IEDs.
- Strong knowledge of industrial protocols like MODBUS and DNP.
- Programming or scripting experience (VB6, VBA, SQL, Python) is highly desirable.
- Basic experience with relay programming (e.g., SEL, ABB, Basler).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and results-driven.
- Utility industry experience (1-3 years) with SCADA projects.
- Experience managing communication protocols and troubleshooting hardware.
- Familiarity with ICCP and HMI/SCADA Master systems.
- Project management skills, including scoping, scheduling, and tracking.
- Work on impactful projects in SCADA/Automation for leading clients.
