What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at Novato Charter School?
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the Head of School with support from the Assistant Director (AD), providing leadership and support to all aspects of the school community. The ED is ultimately responsible for the success of the school and as such has the duties and powers to oversee and supervise all operations in accordance with school policy, applicable California Education Code, other state and federal legislation, and the school’s charter. The ED oversees pedagogy, and to that end, ensures the success of programmatic aspects of the school and the educational experiences of students at the school are in alignment with the mission, vision, and charter as a Waldorf methods public school as guided by the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education. The ED works hand in hand with the AD to fulfill the job description detailed below
Novato Charter School is guided by the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education. NCS serves approximately 270 students in grades TK–8 in the beautiful City of Novato, CA. The campus has over 1.5 acres of outdoor space and is conveniently located next to the Hamilton SMART train station.
