San Jose Middle School Resource Specialist

Novato Unified School District is excited to find a Special Educator for a 1.0 FTE Resource Specialist Opening at San Jose Middle School. The ideal applicant would be coming to us with an intern, preliminary or clear California Education Specialist Credential in Mild to Moderate Support Needs, and an authorization to teach English Learners. NUSD welcomes aspiring educators in the process of obtaining appropriate credentialing that would qualify for emergency permits. Novato is a suburb located in north Marin County, with a population of approximately 53,000. We are a close-knit community, with a number of our population being lifelong citizens. Many of our NUSD parents attended Novato schools themselves. Our community is known for its more than 3,600 acres of open space, which include a number of popular hiking and biking trails. We have eight elementary schools, including one dual-language immersion, one TK-8 school, two middle schools, and two comprehensive high schools. NUSD also has an Alternative Education Center housing a continuation school and an independent study student program serving grades K-12. All schools within Novato Unified offer special education services, along with Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), and special assistance is provided for all English learner students.
