Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced high school biology tutor to join our dynamic faculty team. The ideal candidate should be capable of teaching various courses including Biology, AP Biology. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment while promoting critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication among students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons aligned with the curriculum standards and objectives of the assigned biology courses.
- Establish a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies, maintaining a positive and orderly learning environment conducive to student success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a closely related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Possession of a valid secondary teaching credential or license in Biology is preferred.
- At least two years of recent high school teaching experience in Biology, with a proven record of instructional effectiveness (preferred).
- Familiarity with a variety of instructional strategies, assessment methods, and educational technologies designed to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that meets the needs of all learners.
Salary: $40-45/hourly.
