Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced high school social science teacher to join our dynamic faculty team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in social sciences, capable of teaching various courses including AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP Human Geography, U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics, Sociology, or Psychology. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment while promoting critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication among students.
Key Responsibilities
- Create an inclusive classroom culture: Build a welcoming and respectful learning space that encourages open dialogue, student participation, and appreciation of diverse perspectives.
- Deliver high-quality instruction: Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with curricular goals for various social science subjects, ensuring relevance and academic rigor.
- Differentiate instruction effectively: Modify teaching approaches to support learners with varying needs, including students with disabilities and English language learners.
- Assess and guide student learning: Use both formative and summative assessments to measure progress, offering clear and constructive feedback to promote academic development.
- Maintain a well-managed learning environment: Apply proactive classroom management techniques that foster focus, respect, and active learning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Education, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Secondary-level teaching credential or licensure in Social Science (preferred).
- At least two years of recent experience teaching social science at the high school level with a proven track record of instructional success.
- Deep enthusiasm for the social sciences and a commitment to nurturing students' curiosity, critical thinking, and civic awareness.
- Familiarity with a variety of pedagogical techniques, assessment tools, and digital learning platforms that promote student engagement.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, with experience supporting learners from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
