Position Overview:

The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking a Procurement Operations Lead to join the team. This role will report to the Senior Manager – Procurement and its primary purpose will be to ensure 100% operational readiness for the procurement workstream to support day one manufacturing operations. This means all production inputs/consumables/services are in place along with a robust spare parts program is operating efficiently in coordination with the plant engineering & reliability teams.

Once the plant is fully commissioned & operating, this position will provide procurement leadership with accountability to drive optimization of the OpEx spend, ensure efficient delivery of goods and services, and effectively identify and manage supply risks to Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the effective and efficient supply of direct and indirect materials and services to the manufacturing units in scope.
• Provide Supplier Quality and Relationship Management services to the plant, resolving any quality related issues from existing suppliers, and offering new supplier opportunities to drive competition and/or resolve new sourcing needs.
• Deliver on the Total Cost of Ownership targets for the manufacturing units in scope within the Variable OpEx Spend.
• Support Sustaining CapEx Projects once the plant is operational.
• Provide Procure-2-Pay process training & education to our internal customers (Coupa/SAP, Delegation of Authority, RFA, etc.).
• Deliver excellence in Procurement Operational Execution through adherence to Procurement and Company Policies, Business Code of Conduct, Delegation of Authority, Supplier Code of Conduct, etc.
• May be required to perform day-to-day purchasing activities including, but not limited to, processing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, obtaining vendor confirmations, verifying promise dates, and confirming product delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar.
• MBA is a Plus.
• Minimum 5 Years of Sourcing or Procurement Experience.
• Experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing Organization is highly preferred.
• Strong Leadership and People Development skills; ability to work cross-functionally within a Manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Negotiation and Commercial Terms Management.
• Strong quantitative, project management, and data analysis skills. CPM and Green Belt certification preferred.
• Greenfield project experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP & Coupa experience is a plus

Location Profile

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kinds. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
