Position Overview:

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Establish and enforce policies and practices required to provide safe equipment, a safe working environment and safe work practices
• Strategically and tactically own EHS policy, implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day-to-day operations
• Influences Plant and partners with Production, Operations, Maintenance, and site management to drive the EHS performance and results
• Monitors changes to all EHS regulations pertaining to their area and reviews recommendations for incorporation into EHS management systems and standards in a timely manner
• Accountable for managing site EHS documentation to include program design, EHS data collection and posting, training documentation, and EHS KPI reports
• Manage site occupational health strategy, including managing site nurse
• Accountable for ensuring site adherence to ISO14001 and other similar institutional guidelines

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Requires minimum 5 years EHS experience within heavy manufacturing.
• Experience running Safety Committees and Emergency Response Teams strongly preferred.
• Requires a thorough, in depth knowledge of all local, state and federal laws and regulations related to areas of responsibility.
• A high level of effectiveness in human relations skills and ability to clearly communicate is necessary.
• Must be a self-starter, able to work independently as well as with all levels of the workforce.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing process and business policy and practices.
• Desire to take initiative and develop a proactive relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
• Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
• ISO14001 experience preferred.
