Associate EMRA Leader

Position Overview

Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Associate EMRA Leader!  This position is responsible for coordinating the resource allocation and maintenance of the plant utility systems, and providing support to the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation Leader.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the plant utility systems including but not limited to, HVAC systems, plant water systems, boilers, transformers, electrical distribution systems, generators, compressed air systems, etc.
• Supervise group that support the plant utilities
• Manage and execute projects and interface with contractors and vendors.
• Manage utilities maintenance and operational supply budgets
• Ensure scheduled work and preventative maintenance activities are executed.  
• Work with teams across Manufacturing Units on issues such as; equipment down-time, reliability, planned maintenance and troubleshooting
• Assist the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation Leader with long term department planning and day to day operation of the maintenance teams
• Ensure employee development, which includes coordination and participation in Skill Based Pay, annual employee review activities and continuous improvement opportunities

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years relative maintenance experience
• 2 years leadership experience
• Knowledge of:
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Predictive Maintenance
  • Team based management
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Reliability
  • RCFA
  • FMEA/Asset Care
• Excellent communication skills as well as being able to work effectively with all levels of the organization
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a technical discipline
• Experience with utility systems i.e. compressed air, HVAC, boilers, electrical distribution systems etc.

Location Profile

Novelis’ Oswego facility is located on Lake Ontario in north-central New York and employs approximately 1100 people.
