The Novelis Lincolnshire team is seeking an EHS Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing direct staff support to Novelis; articulate regulatory impact on operations to upper management; investigates, recognizes, and recommends corrective actions for environmental compliance issues and continuous improvement actions while functioning in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

The finishing mill in Lincolnshire Illinois is located 26 miles from Chicago and was established in 1966. The facility cold rolls aluminum to a desired gauges anneals to tempers levels and slits the rolled sheet to size. The facility which employees around 100 people produces mill finish coils for the building construction and transportation industries where its’ products are used for gutters siding soffits and facia. Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA Regulations and Novelis Performance Standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs that meet OSHA and Novelis requirements.
- Provide advice and counsel concerning EHS compliance, laws, codes, regulations, and standards.
- Collects and evaluates information on identified EHS issues and proposes recommendations/alternatives based on specialized knowledge and experience.
- Audits compliance of major EHS programs to legal and corporate requirements
- Occupational Health & Wellness and Injury Case Management
- Oversee all Occupational Health & Wellness programs, such as Hearing Conservation, Fitness for Duty, Respiratory Protection, Heat and Cold Stress programs.
- Coordinate plant physician visits.
- Coordinate with third party administrator on work related injuries.
- Coordinate pre-employment examinations.
- Coordinate industrial hygiene assessments and communication.
- Maintain all records associated with Occupational Health & Wellness, and Case management
- Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Registrations
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures and documents required in the organization’s Business Management System.
- Coordinate internal and external audits of the management system and required follow-up actions.
- Collect required data and information for management review.
- EHS Training
- Coordinate EHS training required by OSHA and Novelis.
- Maintain records of EHS related training.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety & Occupational Health Applied Sciences (or equivalent) and 2 years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety Management in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Must possess leadership skills to direct, lead, and develop other personnel to accomplish plant and corporate objectives.
- Excellent communication skills: the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
- Computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft office
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Experience in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Possess skills to lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives.
