REMOTE POSITION
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Solar Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will
be responsible for producing AutoCAD designs for solar energy systems, assisting the
engineering lead with design review, and coordinating with external engineers for bids and
project-related tasks. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency in AutoCAD, and
excellent communication skills to ensure designs meet project requirements and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- AutoCAD Designs: Create detailed AutoCAD designs for solar energy systems, including
site layouts, electrical SLD. - Design Review Support: Assist the engineering lead in reviewing designs, ensuring all
technical specifications and project requirements are met. - Coordination with Engineers: Reach out to electrical, civil, and structural engineers to
obtain bids and technical support for ongoing projects. - Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with internal teams (engineering,
procurement, project management) to ensure design accuracy and project alignment. - Documentation and Revisions: Prepare and manage project documentation, including
design changes and revisions, while maintaining version control. - Compliance and Standards: Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and
customer specifications. - Field Support (as needed): Occasionally provide field support for project installations
and troubleshooting design issues. - Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and external engineering teams to
ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of any issues.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a
related field.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in solar design or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).
- Familiarity with solar design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or Aurora Solar is a
plus. - Knowledge of electrical and structural engineering principles.
Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with engineers, clients, and project
