The Position
The purpose of this position is to contribute to the overall success of Novo Nordisk’s (NN) digital partnering efforts by establishing and running a Digital Innovation Hub that scouts and collects ideas and new technologies from external sources; screen, evaluate and select ideas for future development in line with needs Regionally and Globally. The Head of the Digital Innovation Hub US will be expected to identify new partner opportunities to support the execution of new tech and ideas from the organization. The primary focus of the position is building a team that drives regional open innovation initiatives from uncovering opportunities to controlled pilot. Head of Digital Innovation Hub US drives cross functional initiatives that leverage emerging technology, facilitating specific ideation processes both internally and externally, convincingly, and clearly communicate to stakeholders across the business and act as a trusted advisor with a strong understanding of business challenges and constraints.
Relationships
Reports to the global leader of Innovation on a solid line and US leader of IT Innovation & Architecture on a dotted line. This role leads a team of professional level direct reports.

Essential Functions
- Drive co-development with start-ups/consultancies to build new product offerings to the business
- Continuously build on partnership with strategic partners
- Continuously expand global innovation network
- Drive cross functional initiatives from ideation to pilot
- Engage with projects, vendors, development partners, and start-ups to ensure best-fit solutions
- Deliver compelling pitches about new technology and novel use cases both internally and externally
- Drive and develop innovation capabilities including design thinking, ideation best practices, and agile methodologies
- Participate in and drive digital innovation strategies in collaboration with key business stakeholders
- Provide guidance to ensure adoption of new technology
Physical Requirements
30 % travel overall; limited international travel.
Development of People
Supervisory, ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters Preferred
- Degree in Business, Innovation, Product development
- 5 years of experience required in a broad digital product development track, being specification, design, development, management and implementation of digital solutions

Specific personal or technical job skills:
- An innovation track record working on, or driving, disruptive projects from idea to launch
- A track record of taking ownership and driving results with the ability to perform in high-pressure environments
- Knowledge and passion for digital trends
- Knowledge of technology stacks and development tools
- Knowledge of and experience with external parties, primarily with customers, vendors and consultants
- Good experience with Project Management

- People management experience setting direction for new unit, or leadership of complex project teams and vendors required
