The Engineering Department is responsible for all maintenance and calibration of direct and indirect equipment to the manufacturing process, maintenance of the facility building and grounds, service contract management and project management for capital expenditures, expansions, or remodelling. The Engineering Department is also responsible for managing the facility in a manner that assures uninterrupted cGMP compliance in existing manufacturing, research, and process development areas.
The Position
A Production Technician’s primary duty is to provide direct technical support to operations area as it relates to equipment. This role will work collaboratively with multiple functions and departments to ensure equipment and associated production systems operate in a safe, and quality-oriented manner. Responsibilities include : providing training and assessment support for equipment operation, set-up, changeover, and troubleshooting, providing recommendations and implementing solutions to resolve equipment and / or process problems in a timely manner, creating and revising GMP as it relates to equipment activities, supporting or owning work orders and preventative maintenance.

Reports to : Supervisor, Engineering - Process
Essential Functions
Complete work under supervision by more experienced team members with increasing independence as experience, training, and job specific aptitude are gained
Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, grasping. Frequent lifting and / or moving up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and / or moving up to 50 pounds. Must comply with EHS responsibilities for the position. Working conditions will be heating ventilation and air condition controlled. Working in a lab environment will require working with skin irritants, lung irritants, electrical equipment, sharp instruments, toxic materials, and hazardous waste. Safety engineering practices and procedures will be followed to minimize exposure, including clean room gowning.
Qualifications
High school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience
Ability to see and hear, read, and write clear English
Ability to communicate effectively and follow / retain detailed written and verbal instruction in an accurate, timely, safe, and professional manner with supervisor, group members, and other departments as necessary, in a professional and accurate manner
