Facilities Maintenance Technician - Lumber Warehouse

Smith Stair Systems, and Novo Direct.Just as our products are used to build something new and inspire others to make living spaces more beautiful, we endeavor to positively impact the people and communities we touch every day.This role pays $18 per hour, shift is Monday - Friday 1st shift.This position will be for maintaining the building and minor equipment issues. As well as material handling to include conversions, rebuilding units, and labeling product when necessary.Essential Responsibilities : Keep building inside and out in a clean and orderly condition; maintaining and repairing building and property as needed.Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning / sweeping floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.Perform routine maintenance activities on structure, machines, and mechanical equipment, notifying Supervisor of need for repairs.Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.Clears snow or other weather-related hazards or general debris from sidewalk / walkways.Work with vendors to plan and schedule necessary repairsCommunicates supply order needs to SupervisorMay assist in gathering and emptying trash receptacles located inside and outside of the warehouseMay operate a forklift or tugger as needed to offload and move product and pallets throughout warehouse safely.Conducts Daily inspection of forklift or tugger at start of shift and report any malfunctions or damages to Supervisor.Other duties as assignedBasic Qualifications : Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirementsBasic math, interpersonal / team and reasoning skillsAbility to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.Must be 18 years of age or older.Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed.Use of proper PPE and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.Experience with plumbing to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.Preferred Qualifications : Prior experience in maintenance in a distribution or manufacturing environment.Must be able to use hand tools and power tools.Experience in carpentry to handle basic repairs within the building.No Travel requirementsPhysical Requirements : Must be able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.100% : Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp80% : Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception50% : Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment10 : Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending or twistingLift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.Why Work with Us?We offer competitive wages, shift premiums, and health benefits.
