Join us as our new Material Handler

This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials and finished products within warehouse and pack orders to ensure timely, accurate delivery of customer requests.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

• Reading work orders or following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

• Loading and unloading materials onto or form pallets, tubs, racks and shelves.

• Loading materials into vehicles; inspecting vehicles for proper shipping conditions.

• Unloading materials from vehicles, inspecting deliveries and shipments for accuracy and damage and preparingproper documents.

• Locatingstock. Counting, weighing and recording number of units of material moved, handled, or shipped. Prepping materials for shipment by palletizing, banding, wrapping and labeling shipments. Picking and packagingfinished products per work orders.

• Entering data in SAP, updatingrecords and filingdocuments, electronically and manually, and preparing/distributingreports, as required.

• Maintaining clean area by sweeping or mopping. Complying with all departmental safety and sanitation requirements.

• Conveying materials to proper storage area. Rotatingstock as needed. Optimizingspace utilization.

• Operatingindustrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Performing PM to lift equipment.

• Maintaining proper temperature for products.

• Responsible for cycle counting program/inventory control.

To succeed you must hold:

• Ability to read, write and speak English.

• Ability to operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials.

• Possess basic computer skills to navigate in email and data systems.

• Knowledge of GMP, safety, sanitation and Hazardous Materials per DOT requirements.

• Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from drivers, other production-related departments (i.e. Customer Service) and co-workers in a tactful manner.

• Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including conversions to metric weight.

• These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with at least six months of related material handling experience.
