Role summary:
This person will report directly to the VP of Manufacturing and will oversee the daily operations of a mass production synthetic graphite manufacturing facility, ensuring that production schedules are met and that the plant operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience in manufacturing operations, ideally within the battery or advanced materials industries. The Manufacturing Plant Manager will drive operational excellence and ensure the highest standards of product quality for NOVONIX Anode Materials (NAM).
This position is fully onsite and working from our Riverside facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Currently, the working hours for this role are 8-to-10-hour days with on-call expectations for emergencies and critical issues. There also may be longer hours required during peak production periods or when specific projects demand increased oversight. Please note that as our company evolves, working arrangements, locations, and hours may change to meet business needs.
Responsibilities include:
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant and oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process for the facility, including raw materials, all processing operations, and finishing/packaging.
· Ensure production schedules are met, and products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
· Implement and monitor KPIs to ensure operational efficiency and quality.
· Oversee plant maintenance to ensure optimal operation of all equipment.
· Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
· Lead and mentor the plant staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
· Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production operations.
· Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
· Manage the plant budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.
· Other duties as assigned.
You are:
· A graduate with a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
· A professional with 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
· Experienced with MES and ERP systems.
· Experienced with managing manufacturing plants and leading production teams across a variety of shifts.
· Knowledgeable regarding materials or powder manufacturing processing.
· A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative.
· Well organized and invested in the details.
