Operator, Mill R&D

Role summary: This person will report directly to the Mill Supervisor and is responsible for the operation of their assigned production/milling equipment. This is not a CNC position, we are milling/grinding raw materials for further processing. This includes following all SOP and safety procedures, recording process data, assisting in the replacement of wear parts, troubleshooting potential issues with assigned equipment, maintaining a clean work area, and completing additional duties as assigned. Additionally, the Mill Operator will support management in commissioning and startup of new equipment. Appropriate training will be provided for all new hires on equipment and procedures. In the role of Mill Operator, you will be joining a world-class Milling team that is delivering innovative solutions to tough problems. This is a second shift position, working Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM EST at our Lookout Valley-Chattanooga location. From time to time, work is preferred outside. This position is fully onsite.  Responsibilities include:• Equipment cleaning and maintenance• Loading and unloading material to keep production schedule• Keeping records of production materials• Monitor equipment for efficient operation• Other duties as assigned You are:• Well organized and invested in the details • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Able to comprehend and execute standard operating procedures and follow written and oral instructions • Confident and able to exercise sound judgment• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing• Proficient in Microsoft 365• Comfortable working and thinking independently while successfully working as a team • A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative • Resourceful when it comes to solving problems• Passionate about creating a great culture • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing environments • Willing to go the extra mile to get the job done • Able to lift 50 pounds• Able to stand or squat for extended periods of time• Proficient with hand tools Extra awesome if you also have: • A high school diploma or G.E.D.• Experience in a production facility• Forklift experience
