NovoPharm of Tampa, LLC is a closed-door, long-term care pharmacy with multiple locations throughout the state. We are independently owned and continue to grow throughout each year providing medication deliveries and consulting services to long-term care, assisted living, and intermediate care facilities. Our closed-door location offers no retail pharmacy services, allowing for a distraction-free work environment. NovoPharm takes pride in delivering personalized care and quality pharmacy services. Our corporate pharmacy office is located Tampa with satellite locations in West Palm Beach, Port Orange, and Tallahassee.
Role Description:
NovoPharm is currently seeking a full-time pharmacist to join our Port Orange team to assist pharmacy management in day-to-day operations. This includes dispensing medications, operational technology, rules and regulations compliance, staffing supervision, as well as policy implementation and compliance.
As one of our staff pharmacists, you have a critical role at the forefront of delivering unparalleled service to our facility partners as well as exceptional care for our partner community residents. In addition to working closely with the pharmacy manager and directors, you are accountable for several operational functions including:
- Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly.
- Verify prescriptions are filled accurately and in a timely manner and with proper packaging and labeling according to facility.
- Supervise medication management to ensure medications are stored under appropriate and secure conditions, delivered to residents in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
- Assist with emergency kit management for intermediate care facilities.
- Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs.
- Adhere to required delivery schedules and other deadlines.
- Assist in overseeing the work of all technicians and give feedback to their supervisor.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Communicate with impact and positivity to motivate and influence.
- Effectively use existing processes and tools to achieve performance objectives as well as identify and recommend ways to improve and streamline processes and practices.
- Provide customer service for external clients as well as our valued staff of technicians.
- Responsible for the workflow and appropriate outcomes.
- Able to log all error medication occurrences.
- Perform “on-call” duties when required.
- Comply with and support efforts to enforce compliance with policies and procedures.
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
- Able to solve problems with minimal direction.
- Share acquired knowledge to help drive healthy outcomes and differentiate NovoPharm from competitors.
Physical Demands
- This position is active and requires standing for long periods of time.
- Able to drive to facilities and perform cycle exchange with team members if necessary.
- Able to lift materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Able to tolerate normal pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy License in the state of Florida, must be active and in good standing.
- Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain required continuing education credits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Not on ANY Excluded Parties List including DEA, Florida Board of Pharmacy, or OIG.
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include up to 7:00 pm, Saturday, and holidays (based on a rotation shared between pharmacist).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or previous experience in a long-term care pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge or previous experience with Framework LTC/ ECM software.
- Immunization certificate or willingness to become certified with possible travel to vaccine clinics located within same day driving distance using pharmacy provided transportation.
