We are currently in need of a Quality Coordinator.
Job Purpose
As a Quality Coordinator at NovumHealth, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of care delivered to patients. You will oversee quality improvement (QI) initiatives, monitor compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborate with clinical teams to implement best practices that improve patient outcomes. A key aspect of your role will be the use and analysis of HEDIS Measures, helping to track performance, assess care delivery, and drive targeted improvements. Your expertise in data analysis, process improvement, and healthcare regulations will support the organization in meeting or exceeding industry standards for safety, care, and patient satisfaction. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for continuous quality improvement, a deep understanding of HEDIS data, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.
Tasks/Responsibilities
- Quality Improvement & Monitoring: Coordinate and support quality improvement initiatives across the organization. Monitor clinical practices, patient outcomes, and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure that quality improvement projects are aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze data related to patient care, clinical outcomes, safety metrics, and compliance with regulatory standards. Use statistical methods and quality improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, PDSA) to evaluate trends, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
- Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation: Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality benchmarks (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA). Stay updated on changes to regulations and implement necessary processes to meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
- Patient Safety & Risk Management: Collaborate with the clinical teams to implement patient safety initiatives. Monitor incident reports, patient complaints, and safety data to identify potential risks. Support the development of corrective action plans to mitigate risks and prevent adverse events.
- Performance Improvement: Facilitate the development and implementation of performance improvement plans, focusing on enhancing patient care, operational efficiency, and staff performance. Monitor progress toward quality goals and adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Training & Education: Develop and provide ongoing training to staff on quality standards, best practices, patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all employees are aware of the organization’s quality improvement initiatives and understand their role in achieving quality goals.
- Collaboration with Clinical & Administrative Teams: Work closely with clinical leaders, department heads, and administrative teams to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings to address quality concerns, analyze outcomes, and share best practices.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on quality performance, outcomes, and improvement initiatives. Document quality improvement activities, outcomes, and compliance audits to maintain accurate records and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Patient Satisfaction & Experience: Monitor patient feedback, surveys, and satisfaction data to identify areas for improvement in patient care and overall experience. Collaborate with clinical and support teams to implement strategies for improving patient satisfaction and addressing concerns.
- Audit & Evaluation: Conduct audits to assess adherence to clinical guidelines, operational standards, and quality protocols. Evaluate the effectiveness of quality initiatives and recommend adjustments based on audit results and feedback from stakeholders.
- Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): Lead or participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance care delivery, patient safety, and service efficiency. Develop and implement systems to track and report progress toward CQI goals.
Skills
- Quality Management Expertise: Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA). Familiarity with accreditation processes (e.g., NCQA) and regulatory requirements.
- Data-Driven & Analytical: Strong skills in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to use quality improvement tools to measure performance, identify trends, and implement improvements. Proficiency in data analysis software (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is desirable.
- Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, OSHA) and accreditation standards, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance in healthcare settings.
- Project Management: Ability to manage and oversee multiple quality improvement projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensure effective project execution.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong leadership skills to drive quality initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex data, quality findings, and improvement plans to senior leadership and staff in a clear and actionable manner.
- Patient-Centered Focus: A strong commitment to improving patient care, safety, and satisfaction. Ability to address patient concerns and use patient feedback to enhance quality initiatives.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and accuracy in documentation, reporting, and data analysis. Ability to identify gaps in care or processes and develop actionable solutions.
Education and Experience
Years of Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 2 years focused on quality assurance, quality improvement, or clinical coordination.
Experience in healthcare accreditation process, regulatory compliance, or performance improvement is highly preferred
Education **
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Master degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field is a plus.
License, Certificate Or Registration
Not Required But A Plus: Certification in Quality Management or related fields (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)) is a plus.
Active licensure in a healthcare-related profession (e.g., RN, LPN) may be preferred.
