POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the movement and delivery of surgical instruments primarily in the North District. Additionally, this position will assist in Medical Education related activities and initiatives to further the education of both our surgeon customers and Novus team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary Duties

o Communicate effectively and closely with the sales and operations teams to facilitate daily movement of surgical instruments and implants

o Monitor and respond to emails, Voxers (app used), calls, and voicemails regularly.

o Complete new hire training and achieve satisfactory scores upon graduation of both Arthrex and Novus programs.

o Safely, efficiently and punctually deliver and return arthroplasty surgical instruments and implants to and from health care facilities

o Logistics for additional product category equipment may also be involved

o Work with facilities’ sterile processing departments to pass off trays needed for surgeries

o Learn, in detail, the contents of relevant instrument trays and ensure timely replenishment of used inventory

Secondary Duties

o Primary work functions occur in the North Area with secondary coverage, when necessary, in the North & South Districts

o Work with Medical Education Manager, in conjunction with Novus and Arthrex leadership to service and support team training needs/opportunities, as well as customer educational events

o Assist in managing lab inventory and materials including samples, disposables, specimens, and other items. This includes the frequent transfer of items between Novus locations

o Assist in all local lab preparation, setup, clinical support, and teardown/clean up. This may be performed in conjunction with the Medical Education Manager, and often will be performed independently

o Perform specimen handing, receipt, cleaning, thawing, disposal, and preparation

o As Medical Education Events are typically performed after hours, flexibility in schedule and willingness to work long durations after “normal” hours are imperative to executing successful events, trainings and labs

o Complete all lab paperwork and documentation, including MedTrac, monthly Meded reports to Arthrex, Internal Spending Tracker and any other paperwork i.e., Novus MedEd Asset Inventory Tracking as required

o Learn and maintain Compliance policies

o In conjunction with the compliance department, handle compliance reports and maintain documentation as it relates to Medical Education activities

o Frequent travel within the Novus geography and Arthrex Headquarters in Naples, FL should be anticipated. Many labs are held at our five (5) office locations (Lancaster, Harrisburg, Allentown, Lewisburg, and Wilkes-Barre) as well as various customer accounts and facilities. You will be expected to spend the majority of your time in the North Area.

o In tandem with Medical Education Manager, develop a strong working knowledge of Arthrex resources found on: Arthrex.com, AGU/LMS, RepApp, etc.

o Report daily to a Northern Novus Office during hours outside of medical education events in other locations. Assist the operations team in the organization and cleanliness of the office and related functions.

o When not actively participating in lab events, expectations are to be completing secondary duties

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, satisfactory experience will be considered
  • 3 years healthcare/industry experience with arthroscopy or endoscopy preferred
  • Experience and passion for teaching and mentoring preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS/SPECIALIZED COURSES AND/OR TRAINING:

o Willing to work with and handle cadaveric specimens

o Knowledge of OR surgical environment within orthopedics and/or arthroscopy

o Skilled in working with different functions and effectively coordinates their activities to achieve desired results.

o Excellent listening skills, including the ability to identify and isolate customers/Novus team members’ concerns or objections, in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills.

o Strong relationship-building skills required.

MACHINE, TOOLS, AND/OR EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

Microsoft Office, PC, and various specialized software.

REASONING ABILITY & MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.

Pay: $48,490.00 - $51,144.00 per year
