Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supporting and managing enterprise-level infrastructure, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, corporate applications, VMware ESX, AWS, and Azure AD. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can effectively design, implement, and maintain complex systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active Directory Administration:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Active Directory environments, including Group Policy management, user authentication, and directory synchronization.
- Implement and manage domain controllers and DNS configurations.
- Perform security audits and manage access controls.
- Microsoft 365 Management:
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Manage tenant configurations, licensing, and user accounts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 applications.
- Corporate Applications Support:
- Ensure the stability and performance of business-critical applications.
- Collaborate with application owners and vendors for upgrades and issue resolution.
- Monitor and optimize application infrastructure.
- Virtualization (VMware ESX):
- Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware ESX environments, including virtual machines and storage.
- Monitor system performance and capacity planning for virtualized environments.
- Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for virtual infrastructures.
- Cloud Services (AWS & Azure AD):
- Design and manage infrastructure in AWS, including S3 storage and IAM configurations.
- Administer and support Azure Active Directory, including identity management, SSO, MFA, and conditional access policies.
- Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices.
- System Security:
- Implement and enforce security best practices across all systems and applications.
- Perform routine maintenance and security patching.
- Support information security initiatives and requests.
- Provide applicable evidence for compliance requirements.
- Infrastructure Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Proactively monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement and maintain patch management, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Provide Level 3 support for escalated technical issues.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement IT solutions that align with business objectives.
- Train and mentor other IT staff.
- Support end-user requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in systems engineering, including hands-on experience with:
- Active Directory and Azure AD.
- Microsoft 365 suite.
- VMware ESX.
- AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware VCP).
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and frameworks.
