Job Description: Accounting Supervisor / Manager
Location: North San Antonio area
Salary: $115K - $120K

Overview: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage the overall accounting work for our two entities and three business units. This role includes developing accounting policies, processing daily transactions, preparing financial reports, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger. The accountant will also assist the General Manager in achieving financial targets and communicating with multiple business units within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accounting Management:
- Manage the overall accounting work for two entities and three business units.
- Develop and implement basic accounting policies and processes.
- Maintain data security and settings in the systems (Epicor and Motility).
- Transaction Processing:
- Process daily accounting transactions, including cash, receivables, payables, expenses, inventory, payroll, tax, and other transactions.
- Allocate general expenses across business units.
- Amortize Goodwill expenses over a ten-year period.
- Organize the year-end inventory count.
- Reconciliation and Reporting:
- Reconcile accounts and perform the month-end close.
- Review and compile financial reports by entities and business units.
- Prepare and update financial forecasts, improving cash planning.
- Financial Analysis & Planning:
- Assist with analyzing financial statements and documenting accounting processes and procedures.
- Prepare cash forecasts and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Assist the General Manager in ad hoc financial analysis.
- Communicate with group personnel and management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with Epicor or Motility accounting software is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably in the manufacturing or retail
