About the Role
Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to become a key player in the accounting team. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including general accounting tasks and specialization in areas like commission and inventory accounting. The ideal candidate will lead month-end and quarter-end processes, refine accounting foundations, and contribute to developing stronger processes and tools. This is a full-time, in-office position with opportunities for growth and significant impact.
Key Responsibilities
*General Accounting*
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and analyze reports in compliance with US GAAP.
- Support technical accounting areas and collaborate with external auditors.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, driving process improvements.
*Commission Accounting*
- Accurately calculate and track commissions.
- Analyze deal profitability and provide projections for changes in compensation plans.
*Inventory Accounting*
- Manage inventory records for parts, WIP, and finished goods.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and track variances.
- Refine cost accounting procedures and controls.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Bill.com.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in public accounting and 2 years in industry.
- Bachelors degree in accounting (CPA or equivalent preferred).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to accuracy.
- Enjoys problem-solving and learning independently.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
- Familiarity with tools like Bill.com, QuickBooks Online, Concur, HubSpot, Salesforce, or other ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fast-growing or startup environments.
- Understanding of sales tax rules, intercompany reconciliation, or audits.
- Passionate about improving processes and enhancing system efficiency.
