What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC CHEMIST III - MS SPECIALIST position at NOW HEALTH GROUP, INC.?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists in coordinating and delegating laboratory testing by setting priorities based on the needs of operations.
- Tests materials as assigned by QC management using various types of equipment – HPLC-SQMS, LC-MSMS, LC TOF-MS, GC-MS, GC-MSMS
- Independently sets up, runs, and troubleshoots instrumentation.
- Performs data interpretation using Mass Hunter, Chemstation, and Chromeleon.
- Reports and performs peer review data.
- Revises and creates SOPs as needed.
- Provides guidance and training to other chemists.
- Assists and conducts method transfers and validation in coordination with the Method Development group.
- Records and evaluates data and documentation for completeness.
- Initiates out-of-spec investigations.
- Performs various housekeeping duties in the lab, including disposing of hazardous waste and performing instrument PM and calibrations.
- Conducts research projects as assigned.
- Presents data through oral or poster presentations at various conferences.
- Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school in a laboratory science such as Biology, Chemistry or related field, and at least five years laboratory experience including hands-on instrumental analysis (such as HPLC-SQMS, LC-MSMS, LC TOF-MS, GC-MS, GC-MSMS), interpreting, reporting and reviewing data generated by software such as Mass Hunter, Chemstation, and Chromeleon, troubleshooting, and training experience.
- Familiarity with general laboratory safety, procedures, and instrumentation.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel, are required.
- Experience with database management systems such as Oracle and LIMS.
- Must be knowledgeable with cGMP regulations.
