Job Overview
We are seeking 4 dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist. The ideal candidates will be responsible for performing venipuncture and collecting blood samples from patients while ensuring a high level of patient service and adherence to safety protocols. This role is essential in supporting clinical laboratory operations and providing accurate specimen collection for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens from patients.
- Ensure the proper identification of patients prior to specimen collection.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during all procedures to maintain safety and prevent contamination.
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary before, during, and after the collection process.
- Process specimens according to laboratory standards, ensuring accurate labeling and handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to hospital and laboratory protocols.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns and ensuring comfort during the procedure.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication regarding patient needs and specimen requirements.
- Stay updated on best practices in phlebotomy, anatomy knowledge, and clinical laboratory procedures.
Requirements
- 3 years recent Phlebotomy experience.
- Proven experience in phlebotomy or a related clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, particularly venous structures, to facilitate effective specimen collection.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and understanding of safety protocols in a hospital or laboratory environment.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with specimen collection processing and laboratory workflows is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in phlebotomy or equivalent training is highly desirable.
