For 40 years, since 1983, Professional Tutors of America, Inc. has provided educational services to thousands of students throughout California and nationwide. Our company started first as a tutoring company, and over the years we have evolved to becoming a comprehensive, full-service, Educational Consultant for over 300 School Districts.
We offer a variety of services including Academic Instruction, Occupational Therapy, Language and Speech, Counseling, and Mental Health Services. The services we provide are a combination of Compensatory Services, Home/Hospital Instruction, as well as in some cases Primary Instruction and/or Therapy.

Our Special Education team is looking for enthusiastic Special Education Teachers who can provide Academic Support to students within Orange County, CA.
Our SPED Teachers can earn $45-$50 per hour depending on education, teaching credentials, and professional teaching experience. Tutors in California are part-time employees and are reimbursed for mileage and travel time while on-the-clock, (tutoring session to tutoring session). Administrative time is also provided.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have California Issued Teaching Credential (Single Subject, Multiple Subject, and/or Special Education Credential)
Must pass and clear a CA Live Scan (background check)
Provide a Tuberculosis clearance (under 4 years old) upon hire
Ability to tutor in person at the student's home
Motivation and passion to help our students achieve academic excellence
Communicate ongoing student progress with parents and case manager
Collaborate with families on students' needs
The logistics:
Our model is entirely 1-to-1, and our services are provided either at the student's home or the nearest public library if the home is not a suitable location.
Professional Tutors of America, Inc. is a nationwide tutoring company and a certified Non-Public Agency through the california Department of Education. Our Special Education Department is contracted with over 100 school districts and local education agencies to provide academic tutoring and additional services.We are currently looking for a part time Special Education Teacher to provide services to a student in need. Tutoring is a one-on-one and services are direct to location, in home or a public library.
Qualified candidates must:
Hold a valid CA Issued Special Education Credential
Communicate on going student progress with parents and case manager
