Job description : The Manager of Application Development is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of both vendor-packaged and custom-built internal solutions that enhance core banking systems and enterprise applications. This role ensures alignment with strategic plans and technology roadmaps, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and innovation.Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of core banking developers, ensuring project success and system reliability.
- Oversee software development methodologies, CI / CD pipelines, and testing practices.
- Work with executive leadership to drive technology initiatives and influence IT strategy.
- Optimize core banking platforms such as Symitar / Episys, Jack Henry, Synergy, Synapsys, MeridianLink, Encompass, and IBM iSeries (AS / 400).
- Implement agile development and iterative project management methodologies.
- Manage cross-functional collaborations with business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Drive application modernization, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and enhance code quality, governance, and best practices. Qualifications : Must-Haves :
- 6 years of experience in financial institution technologies (Core Banking, Loan Origination, CRM, Digital Banking).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring, coaching, and professional development.
- Hands-on expertise in software engineering, version control (Git), and software testing practices.
- Ability to influence executive leadership and drive strategic technology decisions.
- Solid understanding of agile project management principles.Nice-To-Haves :
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Hands-on experience in core banking application development (Symitar / Episys, Jack Henry, PowerOn, etc.).
- Familiarity with IBMs AIX operating system.
