- Location : Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaFull timeThe Department of Neonatology at the hospital is seeking a full-timeNeonatologist for the NICU.The successful candidate will be one who has a proven record ofdedication to patient care, experience with teaching, and whoseinterests include clinical and quality improvement research. TheNeonatologist must also possess outstanding interpersonal skills andhave a proven experience of work in a team focused environment. TheNeonatal Intensive Care Unit is a Level 2B unit and cares for infantswho are born at 32 weeks' gestation or greater. We have over 1000deliveries and the NICU has over 100 admissions each year. The NICU isstaffed 24 hours a day by a team of 4 board-certified neonatologists and1 neonatal nurse practitioner. The neonatologists also provide coverageof the Newborn Nursery. The units registered nurses have an average of10 years experience in neonatal intensive care. Our current groupoperates on a 24-hour shift schedule, with an experienced neonatal nursepractitioner in-house some nights to allow for beeper call from home,which affords a great work-life balance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain and continually update a strategic plan for the NICU for thehighest quality of care for patients in the NICU.Participate in clinical research as appropriate.Provide educational support to Residents and FellowsAbility to function in a Level II NICUComfortable managing babies with CPAP and ventilation supportProvide family-centered care. - An MD, DO, or foreign equivalent with active board certification fromthe American Academy of Pediatrics in both Pediatrics andNeonatal-Perinatal Medicine.Academic credentials for a faculty appointment at the rank of AssociateProfessor is preferred.Demonstrate sensitivity to the culture, needs, and aspirations of thecommunity.Ability to function in a team environment to support collaboration.
