- Global polyurethane foam manufacturer seeks PROCESS ENGINEER for the Greensboro, NC plant!!
- MUST HAVES : The Pour Line's greatest needs are addressed by having an analytical and data-driven mechanical engineer to improve our day to day process; as well as, correct the poor design of our mechanical pump and piping systems. Ideally, someone that is a BSChemE or BSMechE, has pump and pipe design experience and some chemical background!!
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following : Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment asrequired. See JSA & PDA for this position for details safety instructions. Understand ISO 9001 requirements / company's Quality Policy. Always follow workinstructions and procedures as established through the company's Quality Policy. Modify existing reporting systems for new methods, new material specificationsand new products Create new machinery and process systems Implement process improvements Write and update standard operating procedures Train personnel Develop and modify foam formulations that meet customer and organizationexpectations Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they areappropriate. Cross train in other positions as required. Other duties may be assigned as needed by the employees supervisor. Review KPI metrics such as yield and scrap reportsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirect supervisory responsibilities are limited. Example is covering for vacations.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : The mathematical skills required are those that come with an engineering degree.Including but not limited to university level algebra, thermodynamics, heat andmass transfer, process controls and fluid flow phenomena. Manipulation ofproduction numbers to calculate yields, usages, and various other processindicators (using Microsoft Excel). Qualifications : EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : A degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or at least 3 years manufacturingexperience, preferably some in the polyurethane foam / polymer industry.
