Job description : Production Supervisor 3rd shift

- RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Conduct team meetings
- Provide daily instructions to production technicians
- Conduct performance appraisals
- Recommend and provide corrective counseling
- Perform the principal leadership role in workplace ergonomics and safety, standard work training, and job rotation
- Assume an active role in line Kaizen activities
- Coordinate the ongoing work effort during a shift, including timely start-up and shutdown of the assigned manufacturing area
- Communicate and coordinate between assigned line and support departments such as Safety, Quality, Production Control, etc.
- Ensure that abnormal conditions are timely and accurately reported, addressed, and resolved
- Achieve safety, quality, and production requirements to meet customer demand and business financial objectives
- Support the production line during new program launches
- Maintain a positive employee climate in the work area
- Monitor and maintain required records, coordinate on-the-job training, and ensure technician compliance with all HS&E, quality, 5S, and other standard work procedures
- Ensure the team has a reasonable, workable vacation scheduling plan
- Provide hands-on support when required for training, to cover for emergency absenteeism and vacation, etc.
- Attend meetings and fill in for the Manufacturing Supervisor as required to cover for vacations, travel, and other short-term absences
- Maintain the privacy of all PHI per HIPAA regulations
- Aid the team in acquiring technical and team-building skills
- Secure resources from support functions to meet productivity requirements
- Assist the team with setting goals
- Aid in planning the development of members and their skill level progressions through the compensation system
- Perform the principal leadership role in the maintenance of standard work charts and the execution of standard work, control procedures, and quality checks
- Provide facilitation or assistance with problem analysis and decision-making
- Monitor and review the performance of the team in each area of responsibility
- Assist team members through counseling and the preparation of development plans
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times
- Serve as the lead in the assimilation of new technicians
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Qualifications :
- REQUIREMENTS :
- High school diploma or GED
- College degree (preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (automotive manufacturing preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to visually inspect parts and machines and read instructions and labels
- Ability to walk 7 miles per day, stand for the duration of the shift, and lift 40 pounds
