- Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager
- Join an established company with deep roots in food production. As they expand into new product lines you would be strategically leading their Quality and Food Safety team to meet company goals.
- Job purpose
- Responsible for development, currency, and management of sanitation, pest control, food safety and quality assurance programs. Programs must be managed to meet all current Federal, State, and Local requirements and guidelines established by SQF. Directs department activities to meet goals through integration with other departments. The overarching philosophy of this role is continuous improvement.
- Duties and responsibilities
- Oversees the plant Quality Assurance and Food Safety Programs to meet and exceed all company, FDA, state regulatory, and SQF requirements.. Annually audits these programs to ensure compliance. Develops and maintains the master sanitation program. Manages employee and staff training on SOPs and Food Safety practices.. Assists in review and development / implementation of new SOPs. Leads plant food safety team, including food safety techs, and Quality Assurance techs. Creates and updates standard cleaning and departmental operating procedures. Leads internal audit team and creates corrective action for non-compliance and findings. Manages positive release program. Conducts oversight of cleaning equipment and supply purchases.. Ensures all plant equipment is clean and safe for production. Manage the Pest Control Program utilizing a 3rd party pest control company.. Ensure corrective actions are being written and performed for all deficiencies found. Other duties as assigned.

- Qualifications
- BA or BS degree preferred.HACCP and / or PCQI CertifiedSQF PractitionerMinimum three years managing direct reports.Three to five years of direct quality and food safety experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracyAbility to collaborate with multi-department teams.Excellent computer skills, proficient in all Microsoft applicationsHands-on experience with ERP systemsStrong decision making and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively lead a team.Ability to work overtime as assigned.
