POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure seamless operations and on-time delivery. This role includes collaboration with Demand Analysts, production teams, and other stakeholders to manage inventory levels, resolve manufacturing challenges, and optimize scheduling processes. Success in this role requires a strong combination of organizational, analytical, and communication skills to align scheduling activities with business goals and improve efficiency.
POSTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule Development and Management:
- Create, initiate, and maintain production schedules using SAP and other tools.
- Generate process orders and ensure materials and resources are prepared for each stage of production.
- Use plant lead times, historical data, and performance metrics to develop accurate and optimized schedules.
- Project Leadership and Strategic Planning:
- Lead scheduling-related projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Apply a strategic mindset to identify and implement innovative scheduling and process improvements.
- Oversee cross-functional initiatives that impact production planning, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
- Customer and Commercial Collaboration:
- Partner with commercial teams and customers to align production schedules with demand forecasts and delivery expectations.
- Act as a liaison to address customer concerns related to timing, status updates, and potential scheduling conflicts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure transparency and trust.
- Production Coordination:
- Provide forward guidance on materials and processes to ensure seamless production flow.
- Adjust schedules proactively to address unexpected changes, delays, or challenges in the manufacturing process.
- Communicate schedules to relevant teams, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of updates or changes.
- Inventory and Material Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production without overstocking.
- Compute material requirements and coordinate internal transfers between warehouses and facilities to meet production demands.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Demand Analysts, Customer Service, Quality, and Purchasing to align schedules with customer demands and material availability.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on potential risks, and mitigation plans.
- Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies to minimize disruptions.
- Assist in implementing best scheduling practices and refining processes to improve productivity.
- Data and Systems Analysis:
- Analyze production schedules, resource utilization, and critical path activities to identify areas for improvement.
- Use tools like flowcharts, spreadsheets, and databases to model complex scheduling scenarios.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations or production scheduling.
- Proficient in ERP systems, especially SAP (highly preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and manage complex datasets.
- Familiarity with scheduling software and tools for production planning.
- Understanding production workflows, lean manufacturing principles, and capacity planning.
