Job Description
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop accurate cost estimates for large-scale heavy civil projects.
- Prepare and submit detailed bids for public agencies, including NYC DDC, DEP, DOT, SCA, Parks, and Sanitation departments.
- Lead the preparation of bid books, forms, and proposals, ensuring timely and complete submissions.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop means, methods, and production plans for cost-effective project delivery.
- Manage and oversee the estimation process for projects exceeding $20,000,000.
- Utilize software tools, including Excel, Adobe PDF, and Bluebeam, to create and organize estimates.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bidding.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an estimator in the NYC heavy civil market.
- Proven track record of bidding on and winning projects over $20,000,000.
- At least 5 years of direct public agency bidding experience with NYC agencies.
- Minimum of 3 years as the lead estimator, responsible for completing and submitting bids.
- Proficiency in Excel, Adobe PDF, and Bluebeam.
- Experience working for contractors; conceptual estimating experience will not be considered.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and production.
- Must have worked with each employer for at least 3 years.
- Located within a 90-120-minute radius of Staten Island, NY.
- Competitive salary of $150,000 - $175,000.
