Job Description for Mechanical Design Engineer
NPC Global is a distribution company in Carteret NJ looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to our expanding team!
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Design quality solutions for the business
- Develop packaging designs in line with customer needs
- Oversee complete packaging development process; creating of packaging design, prototype development and performance testing
- Define packages/materials to meet product requirements; reliability, performance, manufacturability and cost
- Create customer relationships to help sell design and custom solutions
- Establish guidelines for suppliers and internal packaging processes
- Experience and competency in autoCAD
- Be able to accomplish multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; Packaging Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical)
- Master’s Degree Preferred; Packaging Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical)
- 4 years of Packaging Design experience (or relevant level of experience)
- Strong knowledge of packaging design materials
- Strong understanding of industrial design, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain in a globally sourced environment (Asia, North America)
- Customer service orientated
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering principles
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced level of software programs
- Product-focused creative thinking
