NPR of America, INC is a premier Tier I, II supplier of precision piston rings serving both the OEM and Aftermarket business segments throughout the world.
Summary of Position
This position will provide full time environmental, health and safety support to all NOA sites and will assist to ensure that all practices are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Primary Job Duties:
Safety Program Management:
• Practice safe working techniques and assists with enforcement of safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
• Oversee and promote daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor / manager level to ensure a common and effective approach.
• Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies while actively focusing on proactive measures to minimize risks and prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify and address hazards.
• Review and identify opportunity for improvement regarding effectiveness of emergency response plans and ensure readiness through drills and training.
• Treat injury, accident, and near miss investigation with a high priority and actively engage all appropriate parties.
• Manages the Worker’s Compensation process including reporting injuries to carriers, communicate with employees, coordinate care, and work with care providers.
• Works with and coordinates WC strategies with our WC insurance provider
• Manages identified process improvements to reduce workers risk to injury and/or harm.
• Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with Company policies and safety requirements.
• Maintains compliance calendar, OSHA log records, DART, TRIR rates, near misses and permit logs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.
• Oversee environmental compliance programs, including waste management, ammonia management, air quality, water discharge, and chemical storage, etc.
• Ensure effective follow up and handling of environmental concerns and/or incidents
• Complete customer sustainability reporting as needed.
• Advises manager of compliance related obligations and assists as necessary to ensure site compliance.
• Shares the monthly “daily” safety talk information to all supervisors and managers.
• Conducts safety related training as necessary, includes providing New Hire safety Orientation.
• Assists with SOP’s for all safe work practices as applicable.
• Provide advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
• Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and conducted.
• Coordinate with Plant Managers regarding facility deficiencies and weekly safety inspections. Keeping data logs for comparison, trends and review.
• Lead the Genba walks; schedules, prepares forms, determines audit locations and manages data from the Genba walk via an EXCEL report. Follows back up on open items.
• Maintain filing systems regarding employee related safety training.
• Maintain working relationships with regulatory agencies as applicable.
• Coordinates and leads NOA sites Safety Committee program. Updates manager with report data, etc.
Job Qualifications
The following are qualifications that define the ideal candidate for this position:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field. May consider actual experience over degree.
• At least one year of experience with ISO140004/TS16949 compliance is preferred.
• Above average proficiency in Microsoft Suite software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, ability to prioritize and follows thru.
• Knowledge and ability to perform intermediate math and reading skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills in a cross-cultural environment.
• Ability to engage in two-way communication and maintain positive relationships with all members of company.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
