Production Associate 3rd Shift - MI-Inspection

Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Visually inspects parts for defects such as rust, chipping, grinding scratches, etc. Makes sample molds for metal testing
• Retains samples and data for lot control
• Reads, understands and interprets data produced from testing, and takes corrective action when necessary to ensure a quality product
• Consults with management to resolve quality issues
• Prepares work instructions and procedures for lab testing
• Works to continuously improve in all areas of productivity, cost, safety, quality and employee relations
• Maintains a clean, safe and secure work environment following the Company 5s guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

CORE HOURS:

       3rd shift: 10PM-6:10AM (Sunday-Thursday)

Basic Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities that are normally acquired in the completion of an Associate’s Degree

• Two years’ experience in manufacturing Quality related functions preferred
• Knowledge of dial indicators, height gauges, hardness testing and the metric system a plus
• Basic computer knowledge/experience
• Ability to think independently to troubleshoot problems and develop creative solutions
• Ability to diplomatically and effectively work in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment
• Ability to effectively work within a team environment
• Basic math skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position shares time in both a quiet office environment and a moderately noisy manufacturing floor.

While performing duties of the job the Employee is required to:

• Sit, stand, walk, reach, grip, stoop, kneel, crouch, and navigate tight spaces
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds
