What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Safety Coordinator position at NPSG Global?
Job Purpose:
Partner with NPSG management team to attain safety excellence within our workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Site Safety Coordinator position is a project-based position with a duration of approximately 15 – 20 weeks. This position is responsible for the management and execution of safety activities for the specific NPSG project assigned. The Site Safety Coordinator should be knowledgeable about safety regulations and best practices within the construction environment and be able to engage and advise the job site leadership relative to NPSG’s safety program.
The Site Safety Coordinator’s duties include but are not limited to: enforcing OSHA standards as well as NPSG safety policies, job site safety walk-throughs, writing safety reports, conducting safety training, evaluating forklift operators and scissor lift operators, performing Job Safety Analyses and accident investigations. Additional duties include performing safety audits, pre-task planning for high-risk work tasks, writing site-specific safety programs, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to positively influence safe behavior
- To be on site with the NPSG team while operations are ongoing. Weekend work will be required at some projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and as a team member.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum education - High School diploma
- Minimum 3-5 years prior work experience in an occupational health & safety focused role. Construction experience is not mandatory but is a plus.
- Certification is not mandatory but proves the candidate’s proficiency. Some of these include the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 500 or Associate Safety Professionals (ASP), Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) certification, Competent Person Fall Protection certified preferred, as well as certified trainer for forklift and scissor lift preferred.
