What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRADES HELPER position at NPX ONE?
RESPONSIBILIES/DUTIES: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs minor maintenance jobs of a semi-skilled nature.
- Cleans and disassembles machinery with the directions of a skilled craft or Maintenance Lead.
- Conducts food safety and defense self-inspections and reports on deficiencies.
- Performs miscellaneous work as described by maintenance technicians or Maintenance Lead.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Technical School training preferred
- Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude and have had some formal practical training or in the job experience.
- Must work in a safe manner and have knowledge of LO/TO and other safety related processes.
- Must have strong desire to learn.
- Must have propensity to remember specific tasks once trained.
- Must be willing to work all three (3) shifts to assist during high vacation periods.
- Must be flexible, energetic and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must provide own basic hand tools.
- Must have fork truck driver’s license.
- Must have good communication and team skills
This position is required to complete all necessary training classes provided by Ivy Tech Community College to advance into higher levels of the Maintenance Department.
