What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronics Technician position at NR Consulting LLC?
Pay rate: $26.50/hr
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electronic control systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults in drilling rigs, pumps, compressors, and production equipment.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on electronic systems to minimize downtime.
- Work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose issues.
- Calibrate and configure electronic instruments, such as pressure sensors, flow meters, and temperature controllers.
- Perform wiring, soldering, and circuit board repairs when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Document repairs, maintenance, and system performance for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Assist engineers and field personnel with equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Provide support during equipment installations and commissioning.
Requirements:
- Experience in oil and gas, drilling, or industrial electronics is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, troubleshooting techniques, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and automation systems is a plus.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal analyzers.
- Willingness to work in remote locations, offshore rigs, or extreme environments.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and hazardous area classifications (e.g., ATEX, IECEx).
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Willing to work on-call, rotational shifts, or extended hours as required in oilfield operations.
