Senior Engineer PE

For this role, we are seeking a PE with extensive experience in site development, land development, engineering quantities and cost opinions, site / land feasibility reports, technical writing, critical thinking and analysis, excellent regulatory knowledge, and construction administration. This candidate should excel not only in technical proficiency but also in mentoring and leading their design team in effectively using Civil 3d and design tools (surfaces, corridors, hydroflow, SSA, etc). Their preferred experience should be in Houston / Harris County , ideally having worked for 1 - 2 firms. This candidate must possess leadership and technical skills and have experience in client management. They should also possess excellent communication, coordination, problem solving, organization, adaptability. A strong motivation to continual to learn and grow is a must

I will consider candidates over 8 yrs of experience for NW Arkansas who meet the criteria below.

Project Manager / Client Manager who has diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas. Uses advanced techniques, theory, precepts to plan, coordinate, and directs large and important engineering projects or a number of smaller projects with many complex features. Must also be able serves as technical specialist, and staff advisor. Must be able to carry out complex or Client assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures to create new or refined equipment, materials, processes or methods. Must be able to supervise engineering and support personnel.

Manages Projects Assuring that all Production, Quality, and Budgetary Objectives are Met

Conducts needs assessment with client to determine project scope and requirements

Researches past proposals and historical / industry data to determine project costs and develop

proposals

Attends kick-off meeting to explain design options and gathers information related to schedule and

budget

Develops project plan and budget including staffing and resource needs

Coordinates project with client and external team members

Plans and conducts project meetings

Resolves project issues (e.g., technical, budget, schedule, billing, etc.) and responds to RFIs

Monitors project staff and provides direction / quality control as required

Monitors and reviews project profitability through financial reports and financial review meetings

Coordinates and conducts design review meetings (i.e., IDs projects for review, schedules and conducts

review, and tracks review info.)

Develops tools to facilitate project work (e.g., automated design tasks, project and document control)

Completes project closeout (i.e., financial closeout, archive project files, provides project information to

marketing & materials database, document lessons learned, etc.)

Supervises and Develops Direct Reports and Other Personnel

Monitors staffing needs and manages workload distribution and project resources

Provides guidance to team members regarding design standards, design technique, and quality

Provides ongoing training and development for employees (e.g., coaches, guides the work of design

engineers, answers technical questions, design review sessions, seminars, etc.)

Monitors performance of personnel on a continuous basis and reviews performance with individuals per

company guidelines

Performs Difficult and / or Critical Project Steps

Conducts up-front studies to determine appropriate design system

Develops schematic designs during early stages of projects

Prepares design work, drawings, and calculations as needed

Promote Customer Relations

Promotes by building effective relationships with customers, design team,

subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and

meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.

Actively participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image

Culture, Leadership and Employee Development

Serves as a role model and promotes professional behavior

Participates in and supports training programs and commits to self-development

Collaborates with architects and other engineering consultants to develop engineering solutions

Consistently strives to achieve positive results, in a timely and efficient manner

I require project lists from each candidate for review after they pass the resume review process. These lists should provide a comprehensive description of their projects, their roles, and their duties and responsibilities. Duties should encompass their contributions to the design team, technical tasks, PM activities, client management duties, and administrative responsibilities.

I require a 15-minute candidate presentation during initial meeting. This presentation should cover their background, experience, capabilities, career goals, expectations from their career and potential employer, and any other pertinent information. If candidates successfully pass my screening, I will share the video presentation with the interview panel.
